Location & Arrival – This is how you get to us.

Different ways to get there

Our guests usually arrive by car or plane via the port city of Split. From Split you can take the local ferry for cars (Split – Stari Grad) or the catamaran (to Jelsa or the town of Hvar) for passengers. Some guests also take the slightly longer route via Drvenik and cross over to the island on the shorter local ferry “Drvenik – Sucuraj”.

Alternatives: If you are traveling by a different route, you will find some information here: Arrival by ferry from Italy, Arrival by ferry Drvenik-Sucuraj, Arrival by plane to Split (SPU).

By car via Split

Below we have compiled some information for the usual journey by car via Split and ferry to Stari Grad.

How to find your way to Split

Navigation to Split is extremely simple, convenient and safe. The roads (especially the highway) are very well developed, the number of gas stations, rest areas and also e-charging stations is very good.

Guests from the vast majority of EU countries typically travel via the toll highway via Zagreb and Karlovac.

On the way to Split there are numerous sights that can be used for a break on the long journey.

Tip: If you can manage it, reserve a day to visit one or two national parks. If you don’t have enough time, you should at least make a short stop at the highway service area “Krka”, you can see what awaits you in the pictures.

Leave the highway at Dugopolje to get to Split.

How to find the ferry port in Split

  • Navigation using Google Maps (destination: “Ferry Port Split”) now works very well.
  • Leave the highway at Dugopolje and drive towards Split
  • Follow the signs “FERRY / TRAJEKT” in the city

How to find the ferry

  • Once in the harbor, you still have to find the right ferry dock “STARI GRAD”.
  • Do not enter the right-hand lane too early (as some cars block the lane for other ferries), but pass the jetties slowly until you see the “STARI GRAD” sign on the right.

Tips for the ferry (Split – Stari Grad)

  • Ferry tickets cannot be purchased at the ferry itself but only at the Jadrolinija sales points or online.
  • Ferry tickets for cars are always valid for a specific crossing, so your place on the ferry is reserved.
  • Loading starts about 30 minutes before departure, if you arrive too late at the ferry you risk losing your reservation.
  • The exchange of unused cards is only possible at Jadrolinija sales points for a 10% fee.
  • The easiest way to book tickets online and pay by credit card is via the Jadrolinija app (Apple App Store, Google Play), but you can also use the Jadrolinia booking system in your browser
